Invisalign Vancouver Dentist - Girls shows of smile after using invisalign

Is Invisalign Right For You (video)?

Over the years we have found that many of our adult patients have wanted to correct their misaligned teeth, but metal braces are a deal breaker.

Many are aware that Invisalign® offers a method of teeth straightening without braces, but they are still hesitant to take the first step. With that in mind, we created an informative article that breaks down the treatment process so that patients can feel more comfortable with pursuing the straighter smile they have always wanted (we have also provided an excellent video case study below that demonstrates the effectiveness of Invisalign in extreme cases).

Invisalign is Customized for You

Click to see animation: Images of your teeth are sent directly to Invisalign. They map out a treatment plan, movements of your teeth, and approximate length of treatment.

The first part of the treatment process is taking impressions and pictures of your teeth. We send the media directly to Invisalign who then develops a digital 3-D model of your teeth. Invisalign maps out a treatment plan, including the anticipated movements of your teeth and approximate length of treatment. We then show you a virtual representation of how your teeth will move with each stage of treatment. While every case is unique, treatment takes approximately a year for adults. For teens the length of treatment is comparable to that of braces.

Unique Aligners for Personalized Treatment Plan

Based on your individual treatment plan, a series of custom-made, clear aligners are then created specifically for you. These aligners are made of a smooth, comfortable, BPA-free plastic that won’t irritate your cheeks and gums like traditional metal braces often do. Simply wear them throughout the day, and remove them when you eat or to brush and floss your teeth. As you wear each set of aligners, your teeth gently and gradually begin to shift into place. And because they’re almost invisible, most people won’t even notice you’re wearing them.

A New Aligner Every Two Weeks

Approximately every two weeks, you will begin wearing a new set of aligners, advancing you to the next stage of your treatment. To monitor your progress, you will also have occasional checkups with your doctor, usually only every six weeks or so. For best results and a timely outcome, we recommend wearing your aligners for 20 to 22 hours per day, throughout your entire treatment. At every stage, you will be able to see how your teeth and smile are being subtly adjusted towards perfect alignment.

Reveal Your New Smile & Keep It Looking Great

Congratulations! You have reached the end of treatment and you will be smiling more than ever. Once your treatment is complete, we recommend a teeth whitening session at our clinic as final dramatic touch.

There are hundreds of posts on Invisalign that are available on Youtube, but here’s an inspiring video of how an extreme case of teeth crowding was treated with Invisalign …

Invisalign can make such a positive impact on your self-esteem. With cases that are more extreme as seen in this video, we refer our patients to the specialists we deal with. For more straightforward cases, we feel strongly that we can achieve a result that is aesthetically pleasing and functional.
